Did this one a couple weeks before getting married back in July - my wedding (thankfully) looked nothing like this, but I was inspired by reading countless stories in bridal magazines about women who lose their nerve before the "big day"
In my opinion, weddings are seriously overdone and overdramatized. Marriage is a wonderful thing, but it's an ongoing process that lasts as long as the people involved in it do. Making a big deal out of a single day, I believe, cheapens the value of what comes after. Traditionally a lot used to change when a man and a woman were married - the pair would move in together, usually copulate for the first time, and become responsible for each others' needs, etc. Since many modern couples live together first, it springs the need to make a gigantic ($27,000 national average) affair to make the changeover seem special, with an emphasis on ever detail being perfect.
I'm ranting here, aren't I? In case you can't tell, we eloped.
i love this, especially since i was never one of those girls to constantly dream about their future wedding (it'd drive me mad).i like the atmosphere in this - totally crazy!
I'm in love with this piece, especially the expression on the bride's face. Favorites, for sure! I'm getting married in about 3 months, so I guess I just relate to the chaos captured here. We should have eloped to Vegas, but my family would never have forgiven us.
This is a hilarious piece, I love every detail; especially the bridesmaid on the phone and the folds in her dress. My small wedding this last December turned out to be in the middle of a snow storm... best thing that could've happened!
Oh my God you are so right I worked at a catering Hall for four years, as a bridal attendant and a Matrie'D. I could tell you stories....about bridezillas and it is so true. You know it i get married i know not what to do.
You see I think thats the way to go cause i have seen moms take control of weddings and its not a pretty site. Its mostly how-they-wanted-there-wedding-but-never-could. Way to go
Oh my goodness, I just find this scene so amusing for some reasonXD It just encompasses all the horror stories and things i've seen and heard about wedding days. Love it as usual!
Oh wow. This is amazing, the scene is especially interesting, I keep finding things that I missed at first. I agree with marriage being overdone. My husband and I got married at a courthouse, and it was the happiest day I've yet had, but the focus wasn't on the document being signed, it was on each other. Best wishes to you and yours
